All kinds of fruit can be shaken off trees, and equipping a wet suit will allow you to swim in the ocean and grab wildlife and other surprises. Of course, there are still the classic activities to partake in, including planting flowers and trees, and digging up fossils, catching insects and snagging fish to either sell in shops or donate to the empty museum. Other options include increasing items’ worth to make money faster, and making the town more beautiful by having your animal neighbors water plants for you. An early riser? Make stores open earlier. Play games late at night? Make is so stores are open later. Ordinances are another plus, allowing you to change how the town functions to your liking.
These add-ons do cost quite a bit of Bells (money), though, and while the townsfolk do contribute to the projects, you’ll be stuck with the majority of the bill. The first thing I did was build more bridges across the river for easier walking around. Now you’re in the charge as the mayor, giving you plenty of power to customize your town’s life. “New Leaf” looks and plays pretty much like past offerings, but features new ideas to keep things fresh. Hardcore fans of these games no doubt had their mind made up the moment this 3DS game was announced. This unique simulation series, unlike others in its genre like “The Sims” or “SimCity,” has become a top seller.
